Your duties

Trusted Shops develops SaaS solutions for over 40 million users and 30.000 companies all over Europe. Our product suite includes products such as the Trustmark, buyer protection and the experience feedback platform eTrusted. With our products we pursue the mission to enable trust between people and businesses in the digital age over the last 20 years.

You have many years of experience in controlling in a technology/software company or in an international service company. You are an expert in deriving not only meaningful key figures from complex business transactions and a large number of data points, but also real insights and suggestions for action. Together with your teams from Corporate Controlling and Business Unit Controlling, you will make an active contribution to the further professionalization of our controlling. Our CFO/Executive Board and our cross-departmental management team are your sparring partners for further professionalizing our Finance division.

Overall responsibility for controlling and internal reporting in the Group - you will be responsible for monthly reporting (integrated reporting of P&L, balance sheet, liquidity) as well as the Group-wide budget/forecasting process. As part of the annual budget process, you will also be involved in the upstream strategy process.
Responsibility for preparing analyses (ad hoc/recurring) and reports for various reporting levels (including the Executive Board and managers) and internal/external stakeholders - your comments ensure transparency regarding the financial situation and serve as a basis for management and recommendations for action.You identify potential and opportunities/risks for the development of the individual business segments.
Further development and automation of the controlling area as well as close cooperation with the BI team - You systematically and structurally integrate existing data from applications such as Salesforce, Zuora, SAP, Lucanet or the existing data lake into the internal reporting system and existing BI systems. You will drive forward the automation of recurring reports and systemic dashboards.
Responsibility for the further professionalization of controlling and internal reporting - you develop technical concepts and implement them.
Coordination of specialist and efficiency projects in the controlling environment as well as timely and successful completion in close cooperation with the teams - This includes, among other things, the further development of our existing liquidity management and forecasting.
Responsibility for the professional development and disciplinary management of both the Corporate Controlling and Business Controlling teams.

Your profile

Degree in economics with a focus on controlling/finance (above-average success)
Many years of management and professional experience in group-wide controlling in an international company, preferably in a technology/software company (SaaS sector), in the service sector or comparable industries
You are a reporting expert and know how to translate complex business transactions and a large number of data points into meaningful dashboards and recommendations for action.
Sound knowledge of SaaS business models and the key drivers is desirable. Metrics such as CLV, CAC, NRR or ARR therefore pose no challenges for you.
A basic understanding of external accounting (HGB, IFRS) complements your very good expertise in internal reporting and reporting
You have very good analytical skills, an understanding of complex business processes and a high degree of responsibility, resilience and creative drive
Proactive and structured way of working, a confident manner and enjoy working in a team
Strong Excel skills and experienced in dealing with systemic BI reporting/dashboards and the sensible use and connection to the data lake
Strong presentation and communication skills and very good knowledge of German and English (both spoken and written)

Not only is the personal interaction, the working atmosphere and the mindset in the department great, I also really enjoy the work itself. Here, tasks are not just dully processed, but contexts and backgrounds are also explained. Thanks to the participation in the monthly closing, there is always variety of tasks. As a debtor, I can also get a taste of balance sheet accounting here - very interesting for me personally. Cross-departmental work is a daily occurrence here and I'm never stuck in a bubble. There are often projects, for example, to optimise processes or to improve cooperation with other departments. So I always have the opportunity to get involved and can actively shape processes and structures. Many of my colleagues have become friends and I simply feel comfortable.

At the end of 2021, I started as a Controller at Trusted Shops after graduating from university. In addition to extensive onboarding, my first goal-oriented projects and activities helped me to familiarise myself with the corporate culture and the job of a controller. For example, I was able to participate in the relaunch of the Smart Goal tracking, in which the Smart Goals of our units are consolidated on a monthly basis. This immediately gave me a comprehensive insight into the company and a feeling for the world of figures in a SaaS company. Thanks to the trust placed in me by the team and the immediate involvement in controlling topics, I was able to acquire new skills in the areas of IT systems, reporting, planning and proactive communication with various stakeholders within a short period of time. As part of the reorientation in Controlling, in which we work together on projects despite the newly created teams (Business Unit Controlling & Corporate Controlling) and maintain a very close exchange, I now have the position of Business Unit Controller. I am available to the business units I supervise as a sparring partner for month-end closing, ad-hoc requests, setting up cost analyses and other topics.As an employee in controlling and especially as a business unit controller, I look forward to accompanying the journey and development of the units and thus contributing to the significant success of Trusted Shops.
