Your duties

Trusted Shops develops SaaS solutions for around 40 million consumer-memberships and over 25.000 companies all over Europe. Our product suite includes products such as the Trustmark, buyer protection and the experience feedback platform eTrusted. With our products we pursue the mission to enable trust between people and businesses in the digital age over the last 20 years.

In Corporate Controlling you will work with your team to shape the development of existing controlling processes, structures, reports and finance-oriented management tools. You and your team will lay the foundation for strategic and operational decisions by analyzing and evaluating the company's overall activities.

Proactive sparring for operational and strategic decision-makers
Analysis, commentary and reporting on business development, preparation of target/actual comparisons and variance analyses from a corporate perspective
Preparation of presentations on business development or various controlling projects for the management or supervisory board
Technical management of finance-oriented projects, e.g. in the area of further development of the cost center structure (including functional areas) or cash reporting
Responsibility for the timely forecasting and planning process
Processing ad-hoc evaluations for the CFO and management
Preparation of financial sector, competitive and benchmark analyses
Creation of specialist concepts for the selection of suitable financial tools

Your profile

Completed business studies with a corresponding financial focus
Several years of proven professional experience in the field of (corporate) controlling and corresponding experience in the implementation and coordination of finance-oriented projects or control initiatives, such as the establishment and further development of a cost center structure with a focus on the income statement of sales units/product segments
Knowledge in the area of liquidity planning: conceptual development, development and expansion of reports for actual/plan development
Proven experience in sales and cost planning from a holistic company perspective
Experience with HGB / IFRS accounting standards as well as with common finance tools (SAP, Lucanet, Zuora) and BI tools is an advantage
Competent and self-confident appearance, paired with very good communication and presentation skills
Structured way of working and hands-on mentality paired with experience in project management (technical project responsibility)
Strong analytical and conceptual skills, high level of initiative and results orientation
Business fluent in German and English

Not only is the personal interaction, the working atmosphere and the mindset in the department great, I also really enjoy the work itself. Here, tasks are not just dully processed, but contexts and backgrounds are also explained. Thanks to the participation in the monthly closing, there is always variety of tasks. As a debtor, I can also get a taste of balance sheet accounting here - very interesting for me personally. Cross-departmental work is a daily occurrence here and I'm never stuck in a bubble. There are often projects, for example, to optimise processes or to improve cooperation with other departments. So I always have the opportunity to get involved and can actively shape processes and structures. Many of my colleagues have become friends and I simply feel comfortable.

At the end of 2021, I started as a Controller at Trusted Shops after graduating from university. In addition to extensive onboarding, my first goal-oriented projects and activities helped me to familiarise myself with the corporate culture and the job of a controller. For example, I was able to participate in the relaunch of the Smart Goal tracking, in which the Smart Goals of our units are consolidated on a monthly basis. This immediately gave me a comprehensive insight into the company and a feeling for the world of figures in a SaaS company. Thanks to the trust placed in me by the team and the immediate involvement in controlling topics, I was able to acquire new skills in the areas of IT systems, reporting, planning and proactive communication with various stakeholders within a short period of time. As part of the reorientation in Controlling, in which we work together on projects despite the newly created teams (Business Unit Controlling & Corporate Controlling) and maintain a very close exchange, I now have the position of Business Unit Controller. I am available to the business units I supervise as a sparring partner for month-end closing, ad-hoc requests, setting up cost analyses and other topics.As an employee in controlling and especially as a business unit controller, I look forward to accompanying the journey and development of the units and thus contributing to the significant success of Trusted Shops.
