Are you ready to take your passion for data to the next level? Do you have an eye for detail and a drive for quality? If so, the Data Engineer (f/m/d) position could be just right for you.
For our Insights Generation Team, we are looking for an engineer with initial work experience in data engineering as well as software engineering who is keen to take our analysis possibilities to a new level.
Our Data Engineer (f/m/d) is responsible for developing scalable solutions that enable the ingestion, storage and transformation of raw data into data products which are consumed by analysts and data science projects in a data lake context.
What your main tasks and responsibilities will be:
- You prepare data for various projects (collection, recording, and cleansing) and enrich them.
- You take ownership of implementing, monitoring, and maintaining data pipelines.
- You provide new datasets within our data platform and support the self-service approach.
- You develop software components and scripts that provide data or create the basis for actions.
- You design standard interfaces that ensure high levels of testing, quality control, and performance to ensure the reliability and usability of the data.
What your day as a Data Engineer (f/m/d) might look like:
- You start your day by setting up your mobile work environment - or you set up your desk in the office.
- Open your individual task manager and get involved in the processes you currently work on - from short-term operational to long-term visionary perspectives.
- Meet your team at the daily meeting and lay the foundation for the day's work together:
- Work on designing and implementing data pipelines to collect, transform, and load data from various sources into a centralized data repository.
- Collaborate with Data Analysts and other stakeholders to understand the requirements and design data models that facilitate data analysis.
- Lunch break! Grab a bite to eat at home or maybe gather some team members and colleagues and explore the restaurants around the office?
- More meetings or work sessions in the afternoon:
- Debug and troubleshoot data quality and integrity issues, such as data inconsistencies or missing data, in production data pipelines.
- Develop and maintain automated data monitoring and alerting systems to ensure data pipelines are running smoothly and meet quality standards.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation of data engineering solutions.
- Still in the office? How about a free drink on the roof terrace before you go home? And remember: we don't believe in working until the middle of the night.
